Bread machines are great. I haven't bought a loaf of bread in about three years. If #sonTwo's bread machine has custom settings, I recommend 20 min knead time, changing the rise times (1hr, 1.5hrs, 1.5hrs) and at least 60-70 min bake time. A good recipe is 1 cup water, 2.5 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp wheat gluten, 1 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp oil, and a generous 1/2 tsp dry yeast. Alt…

#sonTwo texted to tell me that his in-laws bought them a bread machine.
Me: Oh, cool! I was thinking the same thing, but it's beyond my current budget.
They can sometimes be competitive, but I'm more of *good, you're helping take care of our kids and grandkids*

Ordered some clothing for #Little_Boy_A and #Little_Boy_A2. The 7 year old and the 4 year old have the same waist size, so ordering pants is sort of questionable. Will the legs be long enough for the older child? Will this shirt fit the younger child without dragging the floor? I often try to avoid #Amazon, but this time, I ordered from there. One of the things I dislike about …

@guizzy @moon@shitposter.club All of this really points back to Florida's issues with "butterfly ballots" in 2000. Apparently, many voters found them confusing. Plus, people punched their ballots incompletely, leading to "dangling chads", which could prevent a vote from being counted. The idea is that electronic voting machines could avoid both of those issues. Naturally, in or…

Scheduled some non-available time in December for #sonTwo's birthday. His brothers are going to start thinking he's the favorite, especially if I schedule time in March for his #GS3's birthday.

#sonTwo and #Daddy_A seem to be hiding from politics right now. I'll be glad when this is over, so they'll be communicative again. There's probably also a work schedule component. 2nd son's new position involved a shift change (and the end of his 2nd job).

Shared #Daddy_A's financial status with his brothers. We're going to team up to get the kids some clothing and shoes. For some value of 'we', considering that I and #sonTwo's in-laws are already buying #GS3's clothes.

#sonTwo’s main employer offered him a different job with slightly higher pay. It requires him to work during the time that his other job is on duty, so he’ll be quitting the 2nd job. Even though it’s a cut in their income (and things are already tight), I’m in favor of it. Hindsight taught me that working and taking classes and studying for 14-20 hours per day meant t…

#sonTwo ordered my Christmas present already. I know he's on MLBShop, so I can guess it is "Dodgers World Series Champions 2020" merchandise.

#sonTwo tells me that the #Tampa_Bay #Rays pitcher (Snell) is "on fire". Currently, Rays 1, #Los_Angeles #Dodgers 0; bottom/4th.

#sonTwo discovered a trick that gives us each the ability to view up to two hours of the game for free.

#sonTwo tells me that #GS3 keeps grabbing the remote and pushing buttons.
That's consistent with my experience. The child is attracted to buttons, lights, beeps, and screens, and touches / pushes to make things happen.

Still reading the voter information pamphlet and filling out my ballot. Sending political comments to #sonTwo, because we can talk about such things without getting angry. ( #sonOne immediately wants to argue if one believes even the slightest bit differently than he does; #Daddy_A gets silent and stops talking to you ... sometimes for months ... when such topics come up. )

@mangeurdenuage Yikes. #sonTwo saw that movie when he was pretty young. (As usual, I was at work.) I think he's still afraid of clowns.
-
Ordered extra smoke and carbon monoxide detectors for #sonTwo's home, so now they can have them at each end of the house.

#sonTwo's wife told me what she bought him for his birthday. I haven't even started looking for purchases related to adults' birthdays. I should look for a belated something for #sonOne first, though.

So removing #Manyverse from my #iPad released enough storage to allow me to upgrade to #iOS 14.0.1. I've since reinstalled Manyverse, and I'm currently upgrading to iOS 14.1. My impressions of iOS 14: irritating as f*ck. Every few hours (almost every time I unlock the screen), it asks me to enter my AppleID password. You know, that long and complex machine-generated string that…

#sonTwo gave me a t-shirt depicting the current major project at his workplace. (No photo because it would reveal too much info.)

#sonOne only watches when he can be there in person, so I know he's not watching. We used to go to Dodger Stadium 3-4 times per year.
By the time #sonTwo was old enough to do the trip, I was going less frequently, but we went to lots of minor league games.
I don't recall taking #Daddy_A to a major league game, but we went to a few minor league games.
