#’s main employer offered him a different job with slightly higher pay. It requires him to work during the time that his other job is on duty, so he’ll be quitting the 2nd job. Even though it’s a cut in their income (and things are already tight), I’m in favor of it.

Hindsight taught me that working and taking classes and studying for 14-20 hours per day meant that I missed a lot of important moments in the kids’ lives. (On the other hand, twenty-five years later, he understands why I missed his birthdays and other occasions.)
