Uh oh. #NOAA / #NWS is sending Red Flag warnings for much of #KS and #MO, including the Kansas City and Saint Louis areas. Also affecting portions of SW #IL. Strong winds and low relative humidity mean that any fires will spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. And also Red Flag warnings for portions of #San_Bernardino and #Riverside Counties in #SoCal. Gusty winds…

No changes from yesterday's post. I don't have the time to follow-up with everyone individually, sadly. Please feel free to translate this as many of the regions left are predominantly not English-speaking. It's that time again. We are looking for regional judges for the Creative Commons Community Music Awards. Please let me know if you would be interested in taking a region. …

According to Google, there are cities in five states with the name "Chillicothe":
They are in: Ohio ( #OH ), Iowa ( #IA ), Illinois ( #IL ), Missouri ( #MO ), and Texas ( #TX ).
I used #Chillicothe in an earlier example because I knew there were multiple places with that name.

#NOAA / #NHC forecasts for #TDCristobal to become #TropStorm #Cristobal, head for #LA, #AR; become a depression, go through #MO, possibly #IA, #IL, #WI. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/145021.shtml?cone#contents

Some severe #t-storms coming through parts of #KS and #MO tonight. Also #IL. I have no information about storms in #NE, #IA, #AR, or #OK.
So far, I've seen no tornado alerts, but #NOAA / #NWS is pumping out severe thunderstorm, flash flooding, and minor river / stream flooding alerts this evening.
-
There are watches and warnings for severe #t-storms and #tornadoes across most of eastern #KS and most of #MO. Probably parts of #OK, #AR, #NE, #IA, #IL, too. #NOAA / #NWS

#NOAA / #NWS advisory for parts of #KS, #MO, #IL. Snow expected 2020-02-12 06:00 to midnight. 1-5 inches.
-
More #snow expected in #IL between Quincy, Springfield, Alton, and the Missouri border, but this is just a Winter weather advisory, no longer a Winter storm warning. Expires 06:00 CST Thursday 2020-02-06 (tomorrow).
#NOAA / #NWS
Also affected #MO, between Hannibal and Columbia and Jefferson City and across to just North of St Louis.
-
Also there, a 2nd US case confirmed on 2020-01-24, this time in #IL. Like the first, the traveler had recently been to Wuhan, China.
Also, there's no way to know yet whether further analysis will show a much lower death rate (e.g., many more infections where the person never felt sick enough to bother going to the doctor).
(Shared because I have seen some people who already seem spooked over this.)

Winter weather advisory continues until tomorrow for Kansas City, #KS; Kansas City, #MO; Columbia MO; Jefferson City, MO; Springfield, MO; and across into #IL. More snowfall expected to add 2-4 inches to storm totals
Currently snowing in all except Springfield.
-
Also #weather: #NOAA / #NWS issuing Winter storm watches from North Central #KS across Northern #MO, and into #IL starting tonight and going until at least noon CST tomorrow. Expect snow, ice, rain, wind and expect slippery road conditions. In #SoCal, Winter weather advisory for the mountains of #San_Bernardino and #Riverside counties. Overnight, 2-4 inches of snow (6 inches in…

Winter storm watches for portions of #KS, #MO, #IL from tomorrow (FRI 2020-01-10) through Saturday (2020-01-11). Mixed precipitation (snow and rain / ice) expected, with some areas getting up to 3-5 inches of snow, 0.2 inch of ice, possible flash floods. This does not mean that other states near these won't have any issues. I only get alerts for parts of KS and MO ... and occas…

#NOAA / #NWS has cancelled the #tornado watches for SW #MO, mid MO, and the Quincy #IL / Hannibal MO areas.
-
#NOAA / #NWS has declared #tornado watches over a broad part of #MO, from the SW corner across through #JCMO, and on to areas from Quincy, #IL, and Hannibal, MO, to the outskirts of the #St_Louis metro.
A watch means bad weather is possible. It does not mean said weather is imminent or certain.

Hmm. I think there should be a chart somewhere that takes https://www2.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/FLS/Documents/MinimumWageHistoricRates.pdf [Illinois\.gov] and compares it against the Consumer Price Index for the state. I see someone complaining about #IL #minwage increasing, but if the wage has not kept pace with price inflation, then it should have already been increased.
