It’s been over a month since I have talked with #sonOne and #GD2, so today’s chat was particularly valuable. (I’ve talked with #GD1 a couple of times in that interval.) It’s usually only #Daddy_A that has such long interruptions in communication. (NOTE: this refers to audiochats, phone calls, videochats; even during quiet periods, we usually still communicate by SMS and text chat in Wire.)

Did not get through to either granddaughter (#GD1 and #GD2) today. Now I'm waiting for my videochat with #GS3 before his bedtime.

It has been a month since I’ve talked with #sonOne or his youngest daughter #GD2. I’m going to try to call her today. Or maybe I will call #GD1 and have her mention to her sister that we’ve been out of communication.

I’ve already finished today’s #YoCo ( #yogurt and #coffee ). Weight is down by about 0.6lb this morning.
#GD2 is likely still asleep (she gets to stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights), but #GD1 and I were talking about opossums and the beach.

I dearly love the videos, pictures, and videochats with #GS3, but I still feel like they're giving him too much screen time. None of us knew better when #GD1, #GD2, and #Little_Boy_A were little, so they spent hours each day in front of glowing rectangles. I wish this last grandchild to grow up acquainted with, but not engrossed in whatever's on the screen.

Thanks to work schedule weirdness, #GS3 was getting to stay up until 21:30 most nights. Now, #sonTwo and his wife are going to try harder to have him in bed by 20:00-20:30 every night.

His cousin #GD2 is 7 years older and in bed at 19:00 on school nights.

Second in my series of questions for my granddaughter #GD2 is “Do opossums speak Spanish?” ... Unlike the first question (“Do kangaroos speak English?”), there was no “Answers.com” question about it in the search results.
(We already know they don’t speak human languages, but the point of these is to find out about animals that she probably does not see regularly.)

Bad thing about talking with my brother today. The call was about 2 hours, 30 minutes. By the time we hung up, #GD2 was already in bed.

Good morning and #TZAG. I’m halfway through today’s #YoCo ( #yogurt and #coffee ). To conserve funds, I’ve reduced the amount of #yoghurt by half. I’m also reducing the coffee level and going completely decaf for health and personal well-being reasons. #GD2 (8 year old granddaughter): I didn't get to have a birthday party, so we're going to celebrate tomorrow.
Me: Another birthday, so soon? Before long, you'll be older than I am.
GD2: No, it's not my birthday. We're just going to celebrate.
Me: You're not an old lady?
GD2: No, I'm only 8. I'm not an old lady yet.

Received a drawing from #GD2 that sort of reminds me of people's anime avatars. She says she drew it herself, without tracing. Maybe I should call her "Prince" (AKA "The Artist").

That was a short call, but I'm mostly just trying to stay in the habit of talking with 8 year old #GD2 one or two times per week. I still talk to her and 12 year old #GD1 during my weekly call with their dad.

My friend and co-worker asked me whether #GS3 is my favorite grandchild yet. I think I have to admit that he is one of my eight favorite grandchildren. I asked #GD2 about the Willy Wonka movies. It turns out she's seen neither one. I'll have to look for the Gene Wilder version and send it to her. I'm not sure she's ready for the newer one.
