I almost always text in almost full English sentences. Almost always capitalized and punctuated, but sometimes I leave off parts like "I am ..." or "You are ..." at the beginning of a sentence.
My granddaughter #GD2 also does that, which makes her messages much easier to read and understand than #GD1's which are often in her own cryptic dialect of text-speak.

Wow, #GD2 is now 97. She was 8, but you add 1 for her birthday to get 9. The 1 has to come from somewhere, so we take it away from the 8, which leaves 7.

01:10 Central / 23:10 Pacific. Receive a Wire message from #GD2 (8 years old granddaughter).
Staying silent, because I know she's got online school tomorrow and don't want to be her excuse for staying up even later.

Me: What kind of books do you like?
#GD2: I like dog books and cat books.
Later
Me: I could not find any snake books. I hope you’re okay with dog and cat books.

Ordered 4 books (3 dog books, 1 cat book) for #GD2's 9th birthday. I hope it doesn't cause any issues. I only ordered 2 books for #GD1's 13th birthday.

Was able to #videochat with #sonOne, #GD1, #GD2 for about an hour and a half today on #Wire. He's been working 16 hours a day since June, but he got a week of vacation. It possibly means that he'll be unavailable again in a week, but I'll try to do #videochats with the kids. Was informed that #GD1 lost her phone. #GS1 likewise lost his phone, but found it and sent it to sonOne …

Me: What time are you finished with school for today?
#GD2 (age 8): It is Saturday
Oops!

I like watching the persistence of small children. When #GD2 was this age, they had a wooden porch about two feet high. She wanted to get off the porch and go to the fence. Every few minutes, she would try to make a break for it and we’d have to catch her before she ran off the edge. She would come from different directions, be facing somewhere else and suddenly turn and run.…

I won’t get to see #sonOne or #GD2 near their birthdays this year, thanks to #COVID-19.
-
#sonOne wasn’t available for #videochat when I called today, but I know he’s been working 16 hours a day, six or seven days a week since June, so it is okay. I’m expecting to see him in person soon. I should also see #GD1 and #GD2. I really miss seeing them in video each week.

I'll be three hours away from #sonOne just a couple weeks before his birthday and #GD2's birthday. I won't have a car, though.

#GS3 discovered the Etch-A-Sketch.
It looks like he's an "art child", like his cousin #GD2.

I missed having our weekly #videochat with #sonOne and #GD1 and #GD2 again, but I did get about fifteen minutes with #GS3.
He showed me his toy truck and said “trunk”, but would not repeat it.
Then he called me “Dadda”, just like he calls both of his parents.
He learned to ask “What is that?”, but he did not say it during our call.

#GD2's bedroom is downstairs, so she doesn't receive my text messages juntil she heads upstairs, and only if she brings her phone. Tough, because I'm used to sending and receiving multiple messages per day. Now, it is more like once per week I get a batch of responses.

#sonOne informed me that their cellphones are back in service, so I started the morning by sending #GD1 and #GD2 some garden photos. Then I thought it wasn't fair that I rarely communicate with their older brothers #GS1 and #GS2, so I sent them a couple of pictures also.
-
#sonOne has not said anything about financial stress, but his phone is 'temporarily out of service' and so are #GD1's and #GD2's phones.

I'm not very conversational there. I pretty much just read others' posts. I rarely respond or post.
#SSB seems to be a "refrigerator magnet" type of place.
Let me explain that term. When #GD2 sends me some of her artwork, I stick one piece up on the fridge (using a magnet). That's "Look at what [my granddaughter] drew / colored / painted for me". So "refrigerator magnet" is hey, look at what I did.

Also that Summer, I bought Mississippi State Bulldogs clothing for #GD1, #GD2, and #Little_Boy_A.

Independence Day (2020-07-04; July 4) plans: backyard barbecue, watch the portion of the municipal fireworks show that is visible from the yard, possible #videochat with #GS3 or #GD2.

I got a separate card from #GS3 (at age 1, I know he didn’t initiate it, but I appreciate it anyway) “signed” with his scribble. They also included one of his artworks ... when he draws something, he’s as proud as can be ... and though it may be an abstract scribble, he pours a lot of effort into them. His cousin ( #GD2 ) is the art child, but she started in just this …
