@espectalll I fixed that in master and nightly. The acct: URI is normalised and remote subscribes work for anyone who has updated that. Maybe @hannes2peer wants to merge this on #quitter.se: http://status.hackerposse.com/url/14825 and http://status.hackerposse.com/url/14826 @Gargron I never understood underscore filtering either (but that's not the issue in this threa…

Every time a #GMail user is unable to receive my #email because #Google inexplicably ate it, and someone suggests I should give up on !selfhost'ing and just let Google manage *my* mail too, I can only think "are you insane!? Then *I* wouldn't be able to receive e-mail either! Why would I want that!?".

#Google's migration of #GMail users from the #GoogleTalk backend to Hangouts would have actually been pretty good for an internal corporate rollout where 100% migration was achieved with intense handholding. But for something this public, they should have at least sent stragglers an e-mail with specific hard cut-over dates—instead of assuming that if you weren't present for the parade then you didn't matter.

For a while #GoogleTalk was still available via #Google's webUIs, but then they switched the back end on those to Hangouts for everyone and removed the option for which back-end was in use. And for a while they displayed prominent notices about what was going on, but then eventually they stopped doing that. So if you went some period of time without using #GMail for example, you might have missed all of the banners.

Once I tried to help someone setup #gmail to handle their e-mail. It was confusing and I could never make it work, so I just !selfhost'ed instead. Works better.

@reality Yeah, and it's not a problem that everyone are using #gmail, because SMTP is a federating mechanism... cc: @sanpi @vinzv

Vad tråkigt att #VK.se använder #gmail för epost. De har ju self-hostat tidigare. Varning: Kontakta inte Västerbottens Kuriren med nyhetstips om ni vill vara anonyma.

Where's the #bug tracker for #GMail, anyway? Is there any way for end users to actually get a bug-report to a #Google developer?
