I finally burned a couple of GNU+Linux installer ISOs to DVD-R, so now I can send S her box (includes flash drive with Ventoy and about five ISOs, a !RasPi Zero 2 kit, a keyboard and mouse for it, and those two DVDs ... #Fedora and #PCLinuxOS; I downloaded #Ubuntu, but it is bigger than the DVD's capacity). -

Seems like there is something screwy with #galera and #mariadb on #centos 7. It works great on #ubuntu.
Maybe something in the name resolution stack? It just won't keep 3 nodes in a cluster. so weird. -

Annoying that #Ubuntu family operating systems still do not give a “use UTC” option during installation for the system timezone. Even my #Win10 laptop uses UTC.
Too many family members are in timezones other than US-Pacific. Using a local timezone is just confusing, just as using AM and PM instead of 24-hour time is. -

Most #Ubuntu family OS should have 20.04.1 LTS available as of 2020-08-06. However, I checked a couple of hours ago and my 18.04 systems don’t see the update yet.

#Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) point release coming up. Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS expected on 2020-08-06.
Important if you're currently running 18.04 on your server. It will become upgradable on or after that release date. -

I really do wish people would refer to #Debian and #Ubuntu and #Devuan (and their derivatives) releases by their version numbers instead of their nicks. If necessary, put the nick in a parenthetical. I can figure out that version 10 is newer than version 9, and that 20.04 is newer than 18.04, but what the heck does a "Ravenous Rabbit" nick tell me? -

I still haven't walked over to the #Fedora machine to look at timezonectl. That does not exist on my #Debian / #Devuan / #Ubuntu machines. -
