#GS3 got his hands on a ball-point pen, so he's got a home-made tattoo on his leg. He had to lift his leg and show his grandpa his work. He also drew on a piece of cardboard, which he also showed me. He really enjoys scribbling. We'll see if this leads to a long-term affection for writing / drawing / painting. #sonTwo is getting fewer hours at $TEMP_JOB, so he's looking forward…

#GS3 has learned to ham it up for the camera. He's ahead of his cousin #GD1 ... she was about 2.5 years before she started that.

My 12 year old ( #GD1 ) and 8 year old ( #GD2 ) granddaughters were animated and playful today. I suppose it means they went to bed on time last night. They usually stay up late on Saturday and then are sluggish all day Sunday, which is when I have my weekly #videochat with them and their dad #sonOne.

I dearly love the videos, pictures, and videochats with #GS3, but I still feel like they're giving him too much screen time. None of us knew better when #GD1, #GD2, and #Little_Boy_A were little, so they spent hours each day in front of glowing rectangles. I wish this last grandchild to grow up acquainted with, but not engrossed in whatever's on the screen.

#GD1 stayed up all night last night. Hopefully, #sonOne and his wife were able to keep the 12 year old up long enough today so she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. She has (online) school tomorrow.

Two hour videochat today with #sonOne and #GD2. #GD1 is sick. The younger one is bored, of course, because she's at home all the time. She's not getting to talk with her best friend much, because the parents have to call and then put the kids on the phone.

It’s been over a month since I have talked with #sonOne and #GD2, so today’s chat was particularly valuable. (I’ve talked with #GD1 a couple of times in that interval.) It’s usually only #Daddy_A that has such long interruptions in communication. (NOTE: this refers to audiochats, phone calls, videochats; even during quiet periods, we usually still communicate by SMS and text chat in Wire.)

It has been a month since I’ve talked with #sonOne or his youngest daughter #GD2. I’m going to try to call her today. Or maybe I will call #GD1 and have her mention to her sister that we’ve been out of communication.

#GD2 is likely still asleep (she gets to stay up late on Friday and Saturday nights), but #GD1 and I were talking about opossums and the beach.

My oldest granddaughter #GD1 is about to experience a road trip. She and #sonOne flew to #SoCal, but they are driving back to #MO.
