Earlier this month, workers in meat packing plants started to get sick with #COVID-19. According to some reports I've seen, workers are shoulder-to-shoulder on the processing line, so safe separation distances are not possible. -

Went to #California EDD's site to see whether I can use the site instead of wating for weeks to receive, fill out, and return paper forms by p-mail (postal mail). Turns out it is possible, if they give you a certain ten-digit identifier (that I don't know if I have), but they're way overloaded and backed up there also, and people have not been able to log in and complete their documents. -

Looking at http://status.hackerposse.com/url/20897 today, it looks like eight states ( #WI, #MN, #IN, #KS, #IA, #DE, #NE, #ND ) are still seeing positive growth in the number of cases of #COVID-19 ... based on the number of people infected by each person who is infected. Most of the rest should be seeing slight declines. I think "open up quickly and get back to work" is a mista… -

@clacke I second that. But from what I understand, the #Matrix founders had been involved in #SIP (which had a rivalry versus #XMPP thanks to its "SIMPLE" messaging protocol ... only recently has the SIP organization decided to work on interop with the XSF). -

Based on the time, it could have been https://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/ci39406880/executive but that’s a long way away to feel a M4.0 (revised up from M3.9) #earthquake. I’ll see what #USGS adds to their documentation. -
