@bastianilso sadly that's a limitation of !gnusocial. A server can't have a user and a group with the same name. So you need to create the group on a server where no user "gnome" exists.

i am trying to start a new !gnome group since the lebegue server is down. but the !gnusocial instance on quitter.no wont allow me to use the direct word "gnome". any way to get that fixed?

@hikerus Yes as you know work in progress, !gnusocial does some bad shit rendering the text and what is worse they dont seem to supply a full fledge jason object that has addresses etc. So when reformating a message you need to work with already rendered content. The first thing you encount is a <br /> that shouldn't be there in the first place and thats only the top of the icebe…

@discussthang Ok. Would it be possible to optimize it? Seems to me the the copied tweet into !gnusocial is not really well formed - are date and time really necessary and there are to much empty lines?

I just found out that moving my !gnusocial client to Electron wasn't a bad idea after all... I have more liberty to style the app!
