Testing whether my GS can post in !gnusocial now … confused with the federated groups concept a bit …

@moshpirit ¿Te refieres en el dibujo para GNU social? Es que la red de !gnusocial tiene una estructura distribuida @lasindias

@laemeur Understood. It could do an amazing job so we don't need to have "network extenders" on !gnusocial instances and fetch the messages we're seeing in our timeline in their context. I don't know either how it could be done, I'm a good user/tester, but I don't code.

BTW, it has happened a lot of time since my last !tzag!!
Hi there, !gnusocial and the entire !fediverse!! :D
-
@sebasfc Uff - du hast den selben Nick auf verschiedenen Servern - das war keine gute Idee - damit hat !gnusocial ziemlich Probleme.

@hannes2peer @mmn I wonder if we should think about "protecting" or "reserving" the Quitter & !GNUsocial words,before some US entity does it
-
Then again maybe I should just pull my messages in the other direction myself to. It has it's beauty not to rely on either twitter or !gnusocial for the exchange of the relevant data.

@mmn !gnusocial I just had a look at the Twitter Bridge because it is looping messages I send from Twitter through my own bridge. I notice a loop is stopped by a check if $notice->source = 'twitter' I wonder if this check could be one on 'api' to?
For personal purposes I now changed line 198 of TwitterBridgePlugin.php to
if (($notice->source != 'twitter')AND($notice->source != 'api')) {

@laemeur Amazing. Could it be possible to bundle some bits of it in !gnusocial code?
-
@phl Possibly ping !gnusocial for this question...

My !gnusocial conversation reconstructor can be added to your browser's search engines, so there's no need to open the page in a tab; you can just paste a post's permalink into your address bar. Instructions for Firefox & Chrome on the page: http://laemeur.sdf.org/gs/convo . Also, image attachments load now.

I want to read the public timeline, but would love to be able to exclude spammy users from my view (eg. here on loadaverage we have @mauthausengusen and I don't speak Spanish and I don't care about its news that it posts every 7 minutes). Blocking apparently doesn't change a thing, it only disallows them to follow me, but doesn't expunge their posts from my timelines. There is…

@gunvolt I use #Choqok. !gnusocial

@gunvolt Choqok works fine; config the !gnusocial part under StatusNet. Remember to use https:// when you define the server

!gnusocial Hi folks, can I install a second gnusocial setup into a separate vhost/db (eg as a dev instance) or does it need more separation than that?
