Unintentionally guilted #sonTwo ... now that he and his wife are getting their own cellphone plan, he asked whether I could drop the family plan and move to theirs. I told him to put his father-in-law on, so he can videochat with #GS3 "because I know that he'll wait all day for that few minutes with his grandson, just like I do". Was not meant to make him feel guilty for not b…

Shipped some Dr Seuss books to #sonTwo for #GS3's first birthday. I need to ask #Daddy_A how #Little_Boy_A likes the game (his birthday present) when it arrives, too.

Hoping to take a Greyhound bus to #MO this month, so I can visit #sonTwo and family ( and meet #GS3 ).

Thanks to work schedule weirdness, #GS3 was getting to stay up until 21:30 most nights. Now, #sonTwo and his wife are going to try harder to have him in bed by 20:00-20:30 every night.
.
His cousin #GD2 is 7 years older and in bed at 19:00 on school nights.

#GS3, age 1 year, mostly babbles, but he occasionally says things that sound very much like situationally appropriate English sentences. He tossed a ball into a large bowl and said something very similar to "I did it". I told #sonTwo and his wife that he's probably going to be like me. My first "word" was a full sentence.

#sonTwo tells me that he stopped somewhere and saw goats today. He says he got goat urine on his shoes.
-
Both #sonTwo and his wife have been working extra hours and weird schedules lately, so I'm not getting as much communication time with #GS3.
-
Informed #sonTwo that his wife’s photos are geotagged, so they can either find it and turn it off or be extra restrictive about where they post.
-
@medli I think I may have seen 2-3 episodes of MitM. I definitely saw at least one episode, but not much more than that. It seemed like a good show. #sonTwo and all his friends loved it.

#sonTwo, the kid that has called just about every day for the past fifteen years (since he was in high school!) has a weirdly changing work schedule for the past couple of months, so I'm able to talk to him maybe once or twice per week now, which has also limited the time I get to videochat with #GS3.

@guizzy I sent #sonTwo $3000 for his #Sony camera a few years ago, and it was not even their top product. ( The previous #Nikon camera was damaged and a replacement comparable to the Sony was going to be even more money. ) ( At the time, he used his camera to earn a significant fraction of his income. I also paid for a $1,200 quadcopter, because it gave his crew an advantage in…

One of my goals for today is to turn on the #PS4 and / or #Switch and play for a while today. I should see if #sonTwo is available. I know both of our "FIFA" and "MLB: The Show" versions are years old, but maybe we can still play. I think #sonOne is moving one or both of his 20-something sons to their grandmother's apartment in SE Kansas today. I should call the granddaughters …

And if I decide I don't like it, don't want it, or can't use it frequently enough, I'll send it to #sonTwo.
I'm not really making plans for it yet. Until it arrives, I shouldn't and won't expect it.

#sonTwo says I should not watch a Disney movie called Togo. He says I’d cry.

Realization sinks in: I had (have?) "Demolition Man" and "Groundhog Day" on VHS, but not on DVD or Bluray. I'm going to have to change that soon. (I'm pretty sure I had both of those, but I have not seen them since #sonTwo left home.)

I saw a few minutes of the #SuperBowl after my call with my brother. Didn’t get to call #sonOne or #sonTwo. Since the older one lives in #KCMO, I was not surprised to hear that he was watching. Still waiting to hear from the second kid and #Daddy_A.

I love #GS3. Even when he's a snot, he's wonderful. He's like his dad--until #sonTwo turned 16, he was almost the perfect child. (There was some family garbage that happened then along with the normal teen stuff. Tough for all of us.)

#Daddy_A had gone silent again. I was just about to ask his brother #sonTwo whether I had said or done something offensive when I received a meme image from him.
I feel like that commercial for Clairol's "Son of a Gun" blow dryer: "Rain! Our crops are saved!"
You'd think I'd get used to these random silent periods by now (he's 30 years old), but I never have.

@sim Most US higher ed campuses have on-campus police. I almost always felt safe on campus, except after 21:00 when the campus and its parking areas were almost empty.
I even enrolled #sonTwo in classes starting when he was somewhere between 12 and 14 years old, continuing until he was 16-17 without worrying about his safety.

When I was younger, I worked all the time because we were almost always one paycheck away from eviction and starvation. When my income picked up, it took well over a decade to get away from that. I want to thank my grandkids and #sonTwo (who actually flew in from another state one time for a surprise "you're going to spend time having fun and not doing anything work related" w…
