#sonOne told me today that since I'm home and off work, I have more time for playing videogames. He's right, and about once every couple of weeks, I log on to the #PS4 and the #Switch and play 10-15 minutes on each console, then put them back on sleep mode.

Waiting to hear whether we're going to try another multipoint videochat tomorrow. I invited #sonTwo and #Daddy_A (tomorrow's plan is #Wire and #JitsiMeet ... I still have not set up #Nextcloud Talk, which is also on our list). #sonOne is currently working 6-10s, so I didn't invite him.

... If it wasn't for the COVID-19 outbreak, I'd tell him to take his computer 2 hours North and have his brother ( #sonOne ) walk him through installing. Being ten years different in age, they haven't ever really been close. Maybe that would be the thing that starts them repairing their relationship.

Two hour videochat today with #sonOne and #GD2. #GD1 is sick. The younger one is bored, of course, because she's at home all the time. She's not getting to talk with her best friend much, because the parents have to call and then put the kids on the phone.

#sonTwo’s current thinking: The venue where he works is closed. He wants to avoid any repeat of this in future outbreaks or shutdowns, so he’s going to concentrate on a career change. I’m expecting him to finish setting up his servers now, so he can relearn the *nix admin stuff that I had him learning during middle school and part of high school. (Half his lifetime ago)…

It’s been over a month since I have talked with #sonOne and #GD2, so today’s chat was particularly valuable. (I’ve talked with #GD1 a couple of times in that interval.) It’s usually only #Daddy_A that has such long interruptions in communication. (NOTE: this refers to audiochats, phone calls, videochats; even during quiet periods, we usually still communicate by SMS and text chat in Wire.)

It has been a month since I’ve talked with #sonOne or his youngest daughter #GD2. I’m going to try to call her today. Or maybe I will call #GD1 and have her mention to her sister that we’ve been out of communication.

#Daddy_A's wife is on "work from home" due to #COVID-19 related shutdowns. #sonTwo's employer is on a two-week shutdown. The company is continuing to pay them, but might not be able to continue beyond that. #sonOne's employer put all office and data center employees on WFH. I told #sonOne that my weight has been hovering just South of 190 pounds. He said I was trying to make him feel bad. (He's quite a bit shorter than me and heavier than that, though he's lost a lot of weight from where he was last year.)

My oldest son informed me that his grandmother passed away. Fortunately, #sonOne did come to #SoCal recently to see her and say goodbye.
