Seems like there is something screwy with #galera and #mariadb on #centos 7. It works great on #ubuntu.
Maybe something in the name resolution stack? It just won't keep 3 nodes in a cluster. so weird.

By the way, in case you missed the announcement, #LoadAverage is doing a big #DB migration ... from #MySQL / #MariaDB to #PostgreSQL. It is taking a while, and I'm sure that after the main move is complete, there will be several little details that have to be tweaked.

Is the #MySQL #JDBC mysql-connector-j driver very different from the #MariaDB version? I would expect that they try to stay pretty close to upstream, so that their software is easily inserted in place of #Oracle MySQL.

It's pretty demoralizing to never get any responses from anyone but @lnxw48a1, but I am nothing if not persistent. I realize I could interact more and gain more followers and I could post more. Maybe I'll give Mastodon a shot a see if I get more interaction there. I don't think I've joined an instance but maybe I have. Anyway... My team is looking! Requirements (I mean, that's …

#MySQL - pardon me, I mean #MariaDB - has been crashing for the last few days. Too lazy to work out why, so I just rebooted the server. Hear that, MCSEs? For the first time in at least a year _I manually rebooted my server_. Can you imagine such a thing? #FreetardierThanThou

#MariaDB could use some cleanup on their learn page: https://mariadb.org/learn/ !sysadmin (and yeah, I get that sysadmins and dbas are not the same thing, but some sysadmins do need to know about MariaDB!)

Thought I'd install #VirtualMin, but it ate my #MariaDB setup, tried to replace it with #MySQL, botched the installation, and I had to recover it all manually. Killed my !StatusNet daemons, had to #KickTheDaemons. Sorry for the interrupted service. !SysAdmin #Fail.

@maiyannah @moonman Because #MySQL (and #MariaDB) sucks and the only reason people still use it is because of legacy? :)
#Postgres beats the crap out of it any day.

!GNUsocial #quitter.is was down last night due to oom-killer (out of memory). I've fiddled with the #MariaDB configuration but haven't done any super indepth analysis. Hopefully it won't explode quite the same way again though :)
