I still do not know what's happening with my nieces ... two of them are supposed to graduate from uni this year. Is there going to be an online ceremony, or will they just receive a diploma in the mail? -

S is supposed to call today and let me know what the final decision was on the #Zoom doctor visit. Very glad I'm not the patient ... what do you do when the doctor's office wants to do telemedicine over Zoom, but your friend that works in IT says not to do it? -

Mark drove home to the #Los_Angeles area last weekend. He passed within 10 miles or so of where I live, stopped at #In-N-Out fifteen or twenty minutes away. I'm glad he didn't call and ask me to meet him there, because it was late. -

That's an astute observation. We have people that seem to be much older than you who have not yet thought deeply about these things. Once someone really thinks it through, it changes the person's viewpoint. My co-worker #S is trying to help someone decide whether to allow the doctor to videochat (via a system called "Zoom") instead of a face to face visit. Rutabaga, the little laptop with Lubuntu 18.04 LTS on it, will have to have 20.04 LTS installed fresh. According to Lubuntu.me, there have been enough changes over the past two years that a b0rken system would be the result if I upgraded directly. (Going to tell #sonTwo as well, as he installed the same on his wife's old machine.) -

S just posed a question:
Someone's doc wants to do a #telemedicine visit over Zoom, including viewing of personal bodyparts. She was asked whether the person should go ahead with it.
My original answer was "If that's the only way to have the appointment, they should do so".
But then S asked me, "if it was you, would you do it?
I would first check to see what other options were available before making the decision. -

@geniusmusing That is a pretty rapid decline. The funds were depleting a decade ago as a result of the recession, but I stopped got too busy at work about five years ago to keep track of such things, so I assumed things had stabilized. -
