@moonman They're basically doubling as Trump propoganda.
-
@moonman @gameragodzilla Clinton wasn't even within polling error of winning that, but they haven't looked that closely at things I think.
There was less than standard polling error's difference in that divide.
-
@gameragodzilla @moonman I bet they haven't even LOOKED at those numbers.
They were still close though. Less than .1% difference between them.
What they'd ACTUALLY have to do is appeal to undecided voters.

@moonman @gameragodzilla Direct democracy is the best, ideal governance out there. The problem is logistics and the security thereof. Maybe in 100 years when we can instantly transmit thoughts or whatever shit, it will be feasible, right now, it isn't. The Electoral College isn't great either, but I actually think it would be 100% fine if the US broke the super…

@moonman @gameragodzilla It's basically the next step up. "Okay, we can't have direct democracy, so what we'll do is have a consensus from each group (state) and we vote for president based on that" As an underlying concept, that's fine. The real problem is that americans that do vote are voting just based on the perception of which is going to win, at least the…

@gameragodzilla @moonman You voted on a principle (choosing a bad leader over a corrupt one) - which is something I can respect, as much as I lament how I wish you had better choices.
The percentage vote for Johnson might not seem significant, but I *think* that's the biggest number an independent's ever got, so that's also a notable takeaway and indicator of how fed up people are, as well.
-
@moonman @gameragodzilla (Was his name Johnson? I'm on so many meds right now. The Libertarian guy)
-
@gameragodzilla @moonman Putting the nation's needs above your own is the number one thing voters need to do more of that most Americans simply do not. To quote Spock: "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few." A smart or simply just perceptive political activist recognises that any politics is a game of compromises and transactions anyways. You're a…

@gameragodzilla The problem here is when democracy is subverted, such as what we found out regarding Bernie Sanders' nomination run. I'm not a fan of Sanders at all really, but I am sympathetic to how corrupt things were to push him down. At the same time, he probably could have made quite a run as an independent and didn't, so he shares some blame there also. …

@gameragodzilla It doesn't harm the legitimacy of Trump's election if the opposing party was corrupt and still lost though, no?
-
@gameragodzilla Actually, my take on this is the Democrats basically paid off people to elevate Trump, because they thought Hillary could beat him, which would explain why suddenly NeverTrump was a thing when they couldn't distract people from the DNC leaks. The NeverTrump Republicans were probably their moles.
-
@gameragodzilla But if thats was all that got Trump nominated he would have crumbled when NeverTrump came, he still got elected though, so it obviously wasn't a determining factor.
-
@gameragodzilla Of course Louise Mencsh was bought out, she reacts to integrity like vampires do sunlight.
-
@gameragodzilla A failed British politician whose harassment of a teenager who believed in an opposing political candidate blew up so spectacularly in her face when she doubled down she fled to the US.
-
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah no listen
it doesn't matter you vote for a black guy twice
if you vote against a woman it is because you are racist
-
@gameragodzilla @moonman Women are literally the (slight) majority in the US now (51.75% or something like that) so I've always wondered why "female" gets a minority special status anymore.
-
@gameragodzilla You're the majority now US ladies, vote down the men if you care that much.
Of course that won't work because most women aren't raving ideologues, but yknow.
-
@gameragodzilla A declining number, with the bad behaviour of many of these progressive infiltrators. Most of them aren't even feminists and don't believe in the body of work that collectively has jumbled together to form a sort of implicit creedo for feminism. It's why I don't really consider them legitimate feminists. Indeed, maybe of them contradict the thing…
-
@gameragodzilla It's funny for me to have spent pretty much a decade campaigning for freedom of expression to be able to wear what I want when I want, and then these so-called "feminists" (many of them the same people that opposed me and the movement as a whole back in the day) now campaigning under its banner to make certain things unacceptable and in some cases eve…
-
@gameragodzilla Oh yeah that's great. Literally slut shaming the future First Lady in the name of progressivism. No hypocrisy or double standards there! And that's what it comes down to I think. I would say feminism itself is very libertarian. Radical-feminsm, progressivism, progressive feminism, whatever you want to call it, is very authoritarianism. I …
-
@gameragodzilla That's the moment when the proverbial mask fell away and any pretense to not being authoritarian flew to the wind.
