@moonman @gameragodzilla Direct democracy is the best, ideal governance out there.  The problem is logistics and the security thereof.  Maybe in 100 years when we can instantly transmit thoughts or whatever shit, it will be feasible, right now, it isn't.

The Electoral College isn't great either, but I actually think it would be 100% fine if the US broke the super-parties and the laws they instated to protect their monopolies.  Give a true multi-party system and the Electoral College would be fine.  But first you'd have to get the US to vote on principle rather than just for the "winning side" (which they sure were wrong about this time, hah), which seems akin to squeezing blood out of a stone.

It's a complex problem whose solutions are only becoming more complex and difficult as time goes on, so I do think the USA needs to address it sooner rather than later.  It's only going to get worse.
