There's another #code-hosting option: #Heptapod is a fork of #GitLab that supports #Hg repos. I see a hosted version at https://about.heptapod.host/

Oh, dang. I've been putting agave sweetener in my herbal tea (now that the house is getting cooler, a warm up an hour or so before bed is useful). I have molasses, but not blackstrap molasses.

If you’re a DotNet dev and wanting some dynamic scripting languages, take a look at http://ironruby.net/ (last release 2011-03; last code 2016) and https://ironpython.net/ (last release 2020-04; code is worked on pretty regularly).
I’m sure DotGNU is long-abandoned, but what of Mono?

@lnxw48a1 Note: The current ironpython is still based on Python 2.7 family, the 3.x Python version is still in development and the git notes say: >IronPython3 is NOT ready for use yet. There is still much that needs to be done to support Python 3.x. We are working on it, albeit slowly. http://status.hackerposse.com/url/22751 Also: PEP 373- Python 2.7 Release Schedule Python.or…

19:10 PST. I’m sleepy, but I have a couple of things to do before I head for bed. My body is ready, that’s for sure.

@lain The actual video says "no" :-).

I don’t know what it is supposed to do, but I was told to rub some arnica oil (A. montana) on my shoulder.
Probably shouldn’t expect an immediate result from a single application, but that does imply that I’ll need to buy some (I was given a bottle with about 20% still remaining).

Regardless of what the law says, I think format-shifting is morally acceptable for content you have already paid for. I wound up repurchasing most of my movies in the VHS --> DVD transition, and I really should not have.

I'm really out of step with my mom and siblings. They seem to think #California is really made of gold, while I think it is made of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrite

Woke up humming "Wichita Lineman". How does that happen?

#GS1 replied to a weeks-old text message a few days ago. I still haven't replied back to his question.

@guizzy OMG! I can't even imagine how awful that would be.

@mangeurdenuage Even having half a beer makes it more difficult. You don't have to be drunk.

@mangeurdenuage > > Best Buy's Geek Squad > I believe these guys aren't only not reasonable with their prices but also do a shit job. Well, yes, they likely do. Like a lot of places ( $EMPLOYER included ), I think they need to complete a certain number of repair jobs per day to justify their jobs. So if the repair is going to take longer, they might resort to halfway jobs that…

@mangeurdenuage Part of it is that we fix things for free or greatly reduced prices. One of my sisters used to call me to do malware cleanup whenever I came back from an assignment. One time, I told her it was too far of a drive and to take her computer to Best Buy's Geek Squad. Once she saw the price, she just bought a replacement. It solved the problem, because once she saw…

> Worst is that they family never proposed to call me to fix the other laptop and let their youngest daughter with shit software.
> I just don't get people. Especially these kinds of people who have money to either repair or buy new one.
I don't get it either. Maybe favorite daughter and non-favorite daughter?

#iOS / #iPadOS 14.2 is out. It has lots of new emoji, plus 8 new wallpapers.
(One wonders whether that description ever persuades anyone that they _must_ update as soon as possible, so they can have more wallpapers.)

You know, I really want french fries from #In-N-Out right now. Just not enough to drive somewhere in order to get them.

Your two choices are ketchup or fall behind.

#Medium:

I generally don't follow Medium links either. Though I did follow one a week or two ago and did so without hitting their login wall. Frankly, I'm much more inclined to follow links to #WordPress.com or even #Blogger. (Though Google has worked hard at spewing JavaScript in places that worked fine without it, so I have to think about known Blogger links.)
