#Medium:
https://mastodon.social/@Gargron/105181902999770474
I generally don't follow Medium links either. Though I did follow one a week or two ago and did so without hitting their login wall. Frankly, I'm much more inclined to follow links to #WordPress.com or even #Blogger. (Though Google has worked hard at spewing JavaScript in places that worked fine without it, so I have to think about known Blogger links.)

I was just thinking I should change some of my tags, but those will be back once covid has settled down, so I guess I'll keep them

Kenny called to talk about the latest happenings and rumors within $EMPLOYER. Most of the mobile field workforce hasn't worked all year and likely won't work until at least next Spring. People in some areas report shortages of temporary housing (hotels, etc). The agency is working on bulk leasing space for short-term conversion into temp housing. Or in some cases, they're reali…

From #1974, Carl Douglas "Kung Fu Fighting" #song #1970s
I don't think someone could make a song like this today. I like the song and always have, but I imagine it would be considered racist today.

First below freezing night in the SoCal desert. Probably the end of our vegetable harvest. To be fair, a lot of plants were already shutting down production and withering.

I would like to mark this momentous occasion of something actually working: "Starting control plane node minikube in cluster minikube"

Seeing that it is 21:30, I suppose I should head to bed. Good night. ????

Listening to George McCrae’s 1974 hit “Rock Your Baby” and then listening to his then-wife Gwen McCrae’s 1975 hit “Rocking Chair” (which was an answer to Rock Your Baby). I should also listen to John Lennon’s “Whatever Gets You thru the Night” and ABBA’s “Dancing Queen”, both of which took some inspiration from Rock Your Baby.

I think y’all know I favor the #Fossil #SCM / #DVCS over #Git (though I’m giving #Mercurial ( #Hg ) another look as well. I’m resource-constrained as well as energy-limited, but I have been thinking of standing up a miniature software forge for !FNetworks projects and users, likely using Kallithea (which can use both Hg and Git) and also having some Fossil repos (but not as part of a forge).

Oh, cool! The #REBOL like language called #Boron has development activity again. https://urlan.sourceforge.net/boron
It was in hibernation for probably a decade (2009 or 2010 to 2019, it looks like), but has been active again since early 2019.

#Boron is an interpreted, prototype-based, scripting language similar to #Rebol. The interpreter and datatype system is a C library useful for building domain-specific languages (DSLs) embedded in C/C++ applications.
License is #LGPLv3

This was a great thing to do. Thank you, Doobie Brothers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etGV7D3hYoY

Listening to music from 1974 tonight. At that time, I was listening to Top 40 station KHJ AM 930. "93 KHJ. America's number one music station."

I think the Winter storm warnings are over, but we still have wind warnings until 22:00 PST, with freeze warnings tonight and tomorrow night.

Found one of the first four songs I listened to when I bought my first portable transistor radio (used a 9V rectangular battery).

I’ve always loved this song, but the truth is, I don’t even remember who I was thinking of when I first listened.

I think this song and the Trammps' "Disco Inferno" were the only two that I liked at the time that "Saturday Night Fever" was in the theaters. The music from that movie stayed in frequent airplay for a year or more after release, so the others gradually became tolerable and then enjoyable.

I think it was the former search engine "Cuil". There used to be a search that even before it launched, bragged about having a really large number sites indexed (probably second to Google). I tried it. A search gave lots and lots of results. Irrelevant results.https://loadaverage.org/notice/20104534 brought that to mind. Too many items to sift through --> unable to prevent irr…
