   @jmallach maybe not, but I never used Debian with anything but Xfce - but that's just a personal choice from Debian's options

    @ghostdancer I'll see - I don't want KDE desktop but won't avoid KDE applications if they're good or just what I need. Same for Gnome.

    !debian is there a better disk-burning program than Brasero? I find it lacking - no way to set verify, for instance. I prefer more control.

    ...for exactly that (!) and 'skipping' build for the currently running kernel. Seems it did build the needed module after all. :-/

    @r7 thanks - I also found 'uname -r' and they seem to agree: 2.6.32-5-amd64. but the kernel-module builder said it was 'only' building...
