@r7 thanks - I also found 'uname -r' and they seem to agree: 2.6.32-5-amd64. but the kernel-module builder said it was 'only' building... -

...for exactly that (!) and 'skipping' build for the currently running kernel. Seems it did build the needed module after all. :-/ -
