https://jabberd2.org/ is completely dead now. See https://github.com/jabberd2/jabberd2 and https://github.com/smokku/jabberd3 (its supposed next-gen version)
Interestingly, its preceding version https://gitlab.com/jabberd/jabberd is back in development (but likely years behind anything else out there) !XMPP
(NOTE: we’re going with #ejabberd and #prosody here.)

Otra dudilla ya que estamos.
Teniendo un certificado de #Letsencrypt en el mismo dominio para !gnusocial ¿necesito uno nuevo para #prosody o me vale el mismo?

@maiyannah Are you moving from #Prosody to #ejabberd? (re: "XMPP server is changing to ejabberd in the near future." in the header on HAC) First of all I'm curious why, because I moved from ejabberd to prosody because the first was just a mess to administer and barely supported anything that I wanted a couple of years ago. Has that changed? Also, there are migration s…
-
@hobbsc You said it. The !xmpp service isn't running here because #Prosody still doesn't like the cert. Considering switching to #Ejabberd now.

@gargron Either way, I don't think there would be a problem for !GNUsocial with remote #Unicode (non-ASCII) characters. Nicknames are normalised as-is (for example removal of underscores which was another discussion). I don't remember if transliteration of nicknames is done, but we do that for #håshtägs (which has also sparked controversy due to incompatibility with…

@jim I would suggest self hosting and having your own anti spam measures. #prosody is dead simple to !selfhost

Is it possible to package !gnusocial for easy install, setup, and update? With the possibility to configure database, daemons and services on install, with post-install hooks, etc? 1. By packaging it and requesting to add it in major distribution repositories. This require a proper versioning and of course, it should be the "stable" branch. 2. By hosting repositories for major dist…

@tardigrader Dvs vad är src-attributet i bilden du försöker använda och vad får du för statuskod/svar vid anrop? Och vad säger felloggarna i #prosody (viktigast kanske)?

@maiyannah Thank @zash who's one of the people making the !XMPP magic work in #Prosody!
-
@espionage724 As everyone else have mentioned, #prosody
-
@maiyannah Then !XMPP is exactly what you want. Personally I offer automagic account logins to anyone on #quitter.is and #quitter.es with an authentication module for #prosody that just piggybacks !GNUsocial's user table. So anyone on those servers can log in with their GS credentials :)
Authentication module including sample config: https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/59391

Yes, I think so. !selfhost'ing #Prosody is extremely simple. You can even use the supplied scripts in /etc/prosody/certs to generate the TLS certificate for your host.

@stigatle @zash Fortunately for him, #prosody doesn't break.
-
@stigatle I use #prosody, since if it breaks I can always go next-doors and bash on @zash.
