I don't know what @tregeagle's talking about. #Mastodon posts are showing in his timeline. Perhaps it's what he means by "able to interact" that we're misunderstanding. #Melbourne's cold, wet weather, and the ready availability of beer with flavour by the pint, is a heady mixture. -

Para las que no habláis Inglés, #Mastodon ha desconectado Ostatus ya, por lo que no va a federar con !gnusocial A pesar de que hace poco dijeron que no era inminente. A pesar de que se está trabajando en implementar ActivityPub durante el verano. Y probablemente porque alguien tiene un extraño concepto del #Fediverso ahora que ya no necesita a nadie. @lanodan It's OK for #Mastodon and #Pleroma to use in their UI "summary" property only. Especially taking into account that Mastodon actually doesn't have Title/Subject of a "toot" but "CW" only (Content Warning) that fits into semantics of #ActivityPub's "summary" better than into "name". Above decision shouldn't influence the "name" property, one of basic properties of #Acti… -

A while back I had to disable HTTP/2 on my instance or it wouldn't federate with #Mastodon instances, which were using a broken HTTP library. That seems to have been fixed since 2.4.0, which was released last year in May. As near as I can tell from my follows, everyone's on at least 2.6 by now, most 2.7. So I'm going to try to re-enable HTTP/2 on my instance, and see if everything works now. Here goes! !GnuSocial -

@mararm As I said, those users on different instances are actually one user (e.g. you at loadaverage). They are copies of the same user. This User is local for loadaverage dot org and remote for all others. Using local user IDs in server-to-client interactions instead of global WebfingerIds is a cause of such "multiplicity problem" and is current limitation of both GNU Social… -

@iw según sé la mayoría de nodos permiten hasta 1000 carácteres, tiene grupos, tiene complemento para wordpress, permite la suscripción a blogs, es la semilla de #mastodon... Es un poco más rústica la interfaz (solo una columna, no las muchas de #mastodon)... Para gustos distintos jeje (los clientes para pc funcionales y muy básicos son #yaics y #choqok, para móvil #an… -

@xosem por otro lado, a mi no me parece que #Mastodon se esté adueñando del !fediverse , creo que es un simple proceso natural en que son muchas más personas que nosotras, y que la mayoría ni nos conoce. Ni se plantea ni ha oído hablar mucho de la Federación. A lo más entre sus instancias, pero no con otras redes que a lo mejor no sabe ni que existen. Yo a Mastodo… -

I must say that I like !GNUsocial more than #Mastodon because of groups, and also because likes (or favs, or stars, or however you wish to call them) from other people I follow appear in my home timeline. Unfortunately I seem to experience more problems with federation in GNUsocial (maybe it's just my node) -

Thanks to pouet.it, I try sometimes to use #mastodon instead of !gnusocial, but I can't get used to it. I struggle with the interface, I struggle to find accounts to follow. I'm not saying that mastodon isn't as good as gnusocial, just that I can't get used to it.
UX is manly a matter of habits. -

Looking _now_ at my home timeline on the Loadaverage web, I also do see notes, which I counted as missed and which I still don't have in #AndStatus on both my devices. I didn't do screenshots, so this needs to be re-checked... But maybe the problem occurs, when notes are arrived from #Mastodon out of some presumed order? From my side I will ch… -

@xrevan86 I checked subscribed noted that I received from mastodon.social via Loadaverage during the last day. And I see that some of sent notes were lost for unknown reason. I don't see several posts (not only the latest) neither in #AndStatus nor in a web interface of Loadaverage.
This looks like unreliable or broken synchronization protocol between Loadaverage and #Mastodon... ?! -

@amiloradovsky Regarding #Mastodon's "visibility". I plan to implement this in a unified way using #ActivityVocabulary, so the feature could be reused for different social networks. Using the vocabulary, "visibility" means, which groups of users will be able to see the note/activity: Public (all, even unauthenticated), "Users of this instance" etc. or no groups at… -

@LeeteqXV No, "CW" as other implementations of a note's "name" (title) is not supported yet, I'm just adding it to #AndStatus data model. I also plan to add an option to collapse note's content, if the note's name is present (as #Mastodon users are accustomed to this...)
