I remember being on a walk in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV) area of #Los_Angeles County in #SoCal when helicopters sprayed malathion laced bait to knock down a Mediterranean Fruit Fly (medfly) infestation.
I don't know of any ill effects, but I did get sprayed that night.

Locally, there is a thin layer of smoke against the mountains, but winds continue to push most of the smoke into the #Los_Angeles area.

#Los_Angeles police with county sheriff deputies assisting just concluded a pursuit on PCH (Pacific Coast Highway, #SR-1) near a brushfire. It sounds like guy may have had medical issue and sideswiped a few cars. Paramedics and ambulance have been called.

The alert does not mention #Orange or #Los_Angeles Counties, but it is unlikely that they are not also affected. #SoCal coastal slopes and mountain foothills could be most affected, along with southern SDCounty and San Gorgonio Pass.

South Los Angeles. I think part of that is in #Los_Angeles city limits (and formerly known as “South Central”). Obviously, this area is not, since it is patrolled by the county Sheriff’s Department (LASD).
