Thanks to work schedule weirdness, #GS3 was getting to stay up until 21:30 most nights. Now, #sonTwo and his wife are going to try harder to have him in bed by 20:00-20:30 every night.
.
His cousin #GD2 is 7 years older and in bed at 19:00 on school nights.

#GS3, age 1 year, mostly babbles, but he occasionally says things that sound very much like situationally appropriate English sentences. He tossed a ball into a large bowl and said something very similar to "I did it". I told #sonTwo and his wife that he's probably going to be like me. My first "word" was a full sentence.

Both #sonTwo and his wife have been working extra hours and weird schedules lately, so I'm not getting as much communication time with #GS3.

#sonTwo, the kid that has called just about every day for the past fifteen years (since he was in high school!) has a weirdly changing work schedule for the past couple of months, so I'm able to talk to him maybe once or twice per week now, which has also limited the time I get to videochat with #GS3.

#GS3 is walking a few steps and climbing. The latest pic shows him grinning proudly after he climbed up on the couch by himself.
He gets very frustrated when he can’t do something, throws a fit, and then tries again.

Despite being invited to ride along on store trips in the early evening, I almost always decline. I want to be available on #Wire for a videochat with #GS-3

Well, I did not make six yesterday. But I spent about an hour trying to talk to #GS3 tonight. I got 2-3 minutes of his attention at a time, followed by him getting off the couch and trying to get into the bedroom where his mom was working or to the other side of the baby gate, where the dog was.

A very serious-looking #GS3 in today’s photos. I think he wants to be held. He’s clinging to my daughter-in-law’s leg.

I love #GS3. Even when he's a snot, he's wonderful. He's like his dad--until #sonTwo turned 16, he was almost the perfect child. (There was some family garbage that happened then along with the normal teen stuff. Tough for all of us.)

Good morning and #TZAG. I’m halfway through today’s #YoCo ( #yogurt and #coffee ). To conserve funds, I’ve reduced the amount of #yoghurt by half. I’m also reducing the coffee level and going completely decaf for health and personal well-being reasons. Anyway, today’s goals: (1) call or videochat with my 8 year old granddaughter #GD2 and videochat with my almost 1…

Daughter-in-law, to my grandson: Were you just throwing a fit?
#GS3: (something that sounds very much like "yes")
At the rate he's going, he'll be taking college classes at age five (for the record, his dad was in college classes somewhere around 12-14)

Now that I’ve been listening to all this great music from the #1970s (and a few songs from the #1960s and #1980s), I’m going to have to revise the list I sent to #sonTwo of what to play at my memorial service.
(No, I’m not planning for or expecting a departure any time soon. I’m hoping to stick around at least until #GS3 reaches adulthood.)

I still have an hour and forty minutes until bedtime, but unless #sonTwo and his wife put #GS3 on videochat, I will try to get to bed early tonight.

My friend and co-worker asked me whether #GS3 is my favorite grandchild yet. I think I have to admit that he is one of my eight favorite grandchildren. But yes, he's right at the top of the list, along with #GD2. #GD1 is right behind them, only because at age 12, she shows a little less interest in communicating with granddad than she once did. #Little_Boy_A (age 6) is also ri…

#GS3's day: discovered a pantry door that hadn't been closed. Goes in there, peeks out to see if his parents saw him, then "Oh, no! I've been caught!" expression when #sonTwo gets up to retrieve him. Very funny.

Parents of a sleepy baby ( #sonTwo and his wife ) called late (after 22:00 CST). #GS3 tried to give me his pacifier (stuck it right up to the tablet screen) and hairbrush (same).

Informed that #GD1's surgery is postponed because the co-pay is $7,000. I was surprised, because I thought #sonOne's health insurance was better than #sonTwo's, but when the younger kid's son #GS3 had the same surgery, it only cost $300 out of pocket.

I'm waiting to find out whether there will be a #GS3 #sleepytime call tonight. If not, I think I'll shower and head to bed soon.
