“Give Up Google”
Yes, this is a good trend, but if it stops with Google, it is an absolute failure at protecting privacy. Instead of “De-Google” it needs to be DecentraLife (including giving up #Google, #Facebook, #Amazon, #Microsoft, and other large corporations that spy on users) ... avoiding the concentration of users and resources that enables these companies to abuse users in the first place. -

I’ve completely ignored the talk about #Google #Stadia and such, because I’m not a gamer. But when #lazyNephew grumbles about lag and slowness (the connection here is 50Mbps down and 50Mbps up) in his current gameplay, I imagine that those whose connections are slower than this are having even worse experiences. Therefore, I think a streaming-only game solution is doomed to… -

Every time a #GMail user is unable to receive my #email because #Google inexplicably ate it, and someone suggests I should give up on !selfhost'ing and just let Google manage *my* mail too, I can only think "are you insane!?
