I’ve completely ignored the talk about # # and such, because I’m not a gamer. But when # grumbles about lag and slowness (the connection here is 50Mbps down and 50Mbps up) in his current gameplay, I imagine that those whose connections are slower than this are having even worse experiences. Therefore, I think a streaming-only game solution is doomed to be unusable in most of the US.

Maybe they can bring back the local pay-to-play shops where Internet speeds were higher than normal, so that gamers can satisfy their online multiplayer needs. Otherwise, the best online multiplayer experiences will have to come from reviving peer-based LAN parties.
