Did a search to find out where that scene in the movie "Hair" was filmed. They say it was in or near Barstow. I was guessing SR-138 near Antelope Valley, but I guessed wrong.
I've driven though Barstow a few times and Antelope Valley a few times (always many years after the filming), and I thought the background looks more like AV. -

That was my third high school. My first and second high schools didn't have cafeterias, so I mostly went without eating. (Family had more kids than money.)
The object in that 3rd school became "ingest just enough to stave off starvation". -

Flavor was like they poured canned tomato sauce (without any added spices) on a thick slab of undercooked dough, then sprinkled generic grated cheese on top. Made in giant square pans. I chose the wrong line today. After I'd stood behind one family for ten or fifteen minutes, I realized that the dad's mask had two tie strings on each side, but he had only tied the top ones. Then, once I finally got to the checkstand, I realized that the cashier had her nose sticking out above her mask. -
