Yes, #F-Droid is a better option than #Google_Play, but F-Droid is also known to expel Fediverse client apps when confronted with an astroturf campaign against them.

@clacke Yes. The reason I posted is that people think that #F-Droid will step in and rescue apps that #Google #Play_Store bans, but history shows that is not the case.

If app developers expose a ".apk" file, people can download that and install it--if they have already enabled installation outside of the Play Store, which is a tiny setting that is sometimes pretty hard to find (same setting is needed to enable F-Droid).
