@bob Gonna see TOR and non-ISP DNS server use skyrocket, I think. OpenNIC+TOR is hardly impossible to run surveillance on, but a degree of magnitude or more than regular web traffic.

@maiyannah yes I expect in the next couple of years to have a lot more folks saying "I've heard of this Tor thing...is it any good?"

@bob I think we'd benefit from a software easily usable by the normal users that TORifies traffic without the need for a special browser.

@maiyannah I think there were commercial products which do that, and a couple of years ago I did start making a Tor dongle within the Freedombone project, but then thought it would be better to do as a separate project. There's also an ISP which claims to offer Tor routing of all traffic, but I wouldn't necessarily trust that.

@hobbsc @bob I don't pretend to be an expert, but I don't think it unwise to use #tor on top of #Debian.
