I notice that the petition to repeal the # now has more than the threshold, but of course because this bill has just recently been passed they're hardly going to repeal it immediately. So it's more of a symbolic protest.

More realistically the surveillance situation in the UK is going to get worse. Now that an assortment of government departments have access to the web browsing and app using history of every citizen given another couple of years some bright young civil servants are going to get "innovative" with that, and the results could be pretty awful.
