Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Thursday, 28-Jan-2021 15:43:16 EST Douglas A. Whitfield @lnxw48a1 I haven't heard any mention of my team getting a new US-based position. There was talk of hiring in India for timezone purposes but I do wonder if when that job does finally come out if it will have the option for US hires as well. I mentioned this before, but new manager on the team since you last applied. The old manager was (is, I guess, he moved to marketing) a sh… -
Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Thursday, 28-Jan-2021 15:33:38 EST Douglas A. Whitfield so, I was asked not to say anything about this, but I think here is fine (rather than facebook, LinkedIn, twitter or in our company slack). I got a raise! Not everyone did, which is why I was asked to keep quiet. Some of our product lines missed targets, but when the US Economy was down overall, the fact that we made money is to be celebrated. If you would like to join such a c… -

Whitfield #rancher and #k8s folks, my knowledge on the subject is limited, but this sounds to me like when it gets reenabled it is getting a new name. Does that sound correct? Any ideas? "After creating the new project I navigated to the Project → Tools → Monitoring in the rancher GUI and clicked the ‘Enable’ button without changing any values. The grafana WORKED!, but disabling … -

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Wednesday, 27-Jan-2021 12:52:43 EST Douglas A. Whitfield yep, that was it. I was thinking about this...I think last night. I think probably what Apple does is phase shifting, not innovation. I think they likely come in late in the early adopter curve, but I think they have the pull to largely determine that curve. Like, as long as the market is truly out of the innovation phase, when Apple comes in, that pushed the market into early … -

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Friday, 22-Jan-2021 10:09:28 EST Douglas A. Whitfield I guess there's a certain amount of innovation in Apple's "our way or the highway" approach to things like USB-C, but I think Apple learned with the Newton what Google learned with Glass. True innovation is expensive and often there is no market. It's a shame things didn't take off sooner with Google Glass, because I think VR/AR could have been useful for a lot of people during… -

Douglas A. Whitfield (musicman)'s status on Thursday, 21-Jan-2021 11:06:27 EST Douglas A. Whitfield one interesting note in there is this: "Note that for VMs, this will be different: The guest OS might display a value of 1048576, but the open calls will in the end be handled by the host OS, which will impose the limit of 1024"
It's possible this is the ultimate issue, but since the customer is unwilling to give us a sosreport, I doubt I will ever know.
