I guess there's a certain amount of innovation in Apple's "our way or the highway" approach to things like USB-C, but I think Apple learned with the Newton what Google learned with Glass. True innovation is expensive and often there is no market.
It's a shame things didn't take off sooner with Google Glass, because I think VR/AR could have been useful for a lot of people during the pandemic. Ultimately, I think AR is more interesting and useful than VR, but idk who is going to take the leap there after what happened with Glass.
