   getting exactly what you want is hard. Getting a contract is not. Generally speaking, if one provision goes, the whole thing doesn't fall with it.

   well, oral contracts *are* hard to prove and there are certain things you can't do legally with a signature, though that is going to change state to state.

   this whole "professionals" thing is HUGE in the law. In fact, SCOTUS cases have been decided upon how the justices view attorneys not as workers, but as "professionals"

   I think the problem is deeper though, and it a similar problem to the tech sector which is why I brought it up to you. Unions are seen as "working class" which is different that "professionals"

    I assume "organizing without protection" means you will get fired? yeah, sure, none of Wendy's friends are going to do that. You can't afford to do that when you have $100k's of debt.

    people make oral contracts all the time. An oral copyright license is enforceable. I'm not advocating for oral licensing, just saying: not hard to make a contract.

    well, should any sort of union-related case go before SCOTUS (Citizens United comes to mind) then we could file a brief. You are correct that a litigant would need to make it to SCOTUS first though. It's not magic.
