@marxistvegan likewise, rules for legal representation are guided by various different institutions, but generally state supreme courts. It's a bit of a different issue with attorneys though since to a large degree they are the ones making the rules. -

@marxistvegan Wendy does not have the legal right to collectively bargain or to strike. I believe this is mandated by AMA, though I don't know all the details. -

thanks for sending. It is too late for me to be able to concentrate on reading all the way through. I will finish it tomorrow. -

@marxistvegan but, I think we should just wait until thinking about that too much. Whether I am at FMC or PK this summer could influence NEFs immediate future (in as much as it is tied to me) to lean more toward Music Manumit or to the PK stuff. -

@marxistvegan or if other countries have similar laws, but potentially that is an amicus brief waiting to happen to tie back into that. I've also been curious as to if there was any way to bring that into Cyberunions content. -

@marxistvegan one thing we did not get a chance to discuss tonight was legal obstacles to unionization. For instance, both Wendy and I will be legally bound not to unionize (well, at least as an attorney). I don't know if there are other professions with those limitations... -

interesting. This may be where people get a misunderstanding of the meaning of "open source" since they clearly define it as publicly accessible: http://conventions.coe.int/Treaty/en/Treaties/Html/185.htm -

hmm, I added more, but spent less time waffling about things I guess in that run-through. -

@marxistvegan have you and Danny been talking on mumble? Since I am going to have to change physical location before our meeting, where we are digitally makes like difference. -

I have successfully defeated my trademark supplemental text. Too bad I still have hundreds of pages in the main text. -

hmm, I need to be on campus at 9PM, but I want to be at home the hour before that. If reserving a room were easier this would not be a problem. I guess I will try to wing it. -

to be clear, that is not to say that they will necessarily be good lawyers. While they are in school though, they aren't allowed to cut corners. Judges wouldn't let them talk if they weren't 100% confident. -

despite not being involved in this case, I can say with some certainty that every stone was uncovered in this case. The students actually are probably better prepared than most lawyers out there. They really dot their i's and cross their t's -

well, depending on how egregious the error was, could also be grounds for professional discipline, like disbarment. -

ineffective assistance of counsel only works in criminal cases. It's "malpractice" if civil. -

assuming the defense/defendant can figure out contact you, I would think that not contacting you would be grounds for an ineffective assistance of counsel claim, which is a US Constitutional due process issue. -

so, assume your radical, leftist, revolutionary credit union acts as your auto insurer. That institution should be bleed dry even if there is no fault on your part? seems a bit ridiculous to me. -
