@mmn Of all the systems on #Freedombone, !gnusocial was one of the easier to install. Anything which is based on python or ruby is typically a dependency nightmare.

I'm noticing that there seem to be quite a lot of !gnusocial installs out there. This is the advantage of (i) being easy to install and (ii) federation.

!gnusocial Is there a mechanism for transferring accounts or account data between GNU Social instances? For instance, lets say I run an instance for a while, but eventually have to stop running it for whatever reason. Is there a way for the users on my instance to sign up on another instance and transfer everything over so they don't lose all their posts, images, etc?

Wondering whether to make some !gnusocial merchandise. FOSS projects are rarely advertised, and "wearing the T-shirt" or badge can sometimes be a talking point which makes people aware that these things exist.

@strypey well the great thing about !gnusocial is that if the neocons want their own server they can have it. They can be as idiotic as they like on their own hardware.

Switched my server over to Arch Linux and just got done with re-deploying !gnusocial, everything is looking good so far :)
