!gs !gnusocial in the past I had set $config['public']['localonly'] = true; but now I want to show the network public timeline to users not logged in. So I tried to set $config['public']['localonly'] = false; but it still only shows the local instance timeline. Any idea? I might have once set a similar setting in the Web Admin UI, but I cannot find it anymore.

@hannes2peer @marcus I.e. since #quitter.se runs an older version of !gnusocial it requires a hack, but whenever they align with latest commits I would vote for removing the public_and_external timeline since timeline aggregation should be part of the backend and not a client :)

@marcus Newer (than #quitter.se) !gnusocial instances has a "networkpublic" timeline instead of "public_and_external". It should be exactly the same thing.

I think we should remove #MicroID from !gnusocial. Does anyone actually make use of it?
It's probably 100% irrelevant for ID verification and often also a privacy breach: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MicroID

Where can I find any (API) documentation to make a website communicate with !ostatus and !gnusocial?
I have an idea of a project that needs social features and plan to make it federated.

Incidentally, the classic !gnusocial interface (neo-* themes) was exactly described as "cluttered" and "busy" (as opposed to minimalist) by the friends I forced into GNU social. From their interaction with it, I can also tell it was poorly discoverable: simple tasks, like following a group or changing the avatar, were sometimes hard to accomplish.

J'ai un point de moins car les avatars ne sont pas en https → bug de !gnusocial signalé à @mmn et un autre point de moins pour extended validation que je ne peux pas avoir de toute façon. Mais si vous avez des conseils je suis preneur :)

Server successfully upgraded from wheezy to jessie; !gnusocial successfully upgraded from 1.1.3-alpha1 to 1.2.0-alpha1, although not without a bit of a hiccough. Xcache was causing PHP to segfault and breaking GS, so I had to disable it. Never saw much performance increase from it anyway, so no great loss.

Haha, I had introduced a stupid bug in !gnusocial because I had somehow thought of the inheritance of "ProfileAction", "GalleryAction" and so the wrong way. I suck.

@mmn yes, might be. But many users may have it installed. And here in !gnusocial it is only that keyword #finally that needs to be removed.
