Dallas County officials stress wearing masks as hospitalizations again hit record high https://www.dallasnews.com/news/public-health/2020/06/20/dallas-county-reports-395-coronavirus-cases-hits-new-record-high-hospitalizations/

@guizzy Yeah, whenever you can, choose smaller, locally-owned companies. At least you can choose a replacement if needed. If we only choose the biggest companies, we'll lose any switching options.

I too am with Canadian ISP #Teksavvy. I checked my bill last month, and was surprised to find it less than I expected. Apparently they lowered prices around November 2019. A couple of years ago they upgraded to unlimited/month at no charge. No way I'm ever changing! (is #Teksavvy somewhere in the !Fediverse?) /cc @guizzy

Time to head to #Target. #Yogurt awaits.

Not sure what is happening with #Daddy_A's package. Destination scans (which AFAIK signify arrival in his city) both yesterday and today.

It looks like the last few days of 90+ F and dry winds have killed some transplants in my garden. Radishes, Turnips, Beets, Sunflowers. Only about 1/3 of them were affected at all, and not all of them died. Also affected (but no plants seem to be dead) beans, peas, peppers, grapes, potatoes, cucumbers, squash, cantaloupes, watermelons. No impact yet noticed on okra. One of the …

Alpha, Rita’s escaped! Recruit a team of teenagers with attitude. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQz8iZ9ot1I ????
I’ll have to look for some of the earlier seasons on DVD.

I used to watch the original Power Rangers and Power Rangers Turbo with #sonTwo and his friends. I got to see some episodes of Power Rangers in Space with my nephews. I'd like to sit down with #GS3 and #Little_Boy_A / #Little_Boy_A2 / #Little_Girl_A3 and binge watch the first few seasons ... if they can watch without karate chopping one another.

There’s also an annular eclipse today. 05:00 UTC ... supposedly going to be livestreamed on timeanddate.com

Hot ????. 97F / 37C, about 10MPH breeze. Today at 14:43 (US-Pacific) was the Summer Solstice.

"C 50" It is 50 days since Texas essentially ceded the battlefield (the human population) to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. By racing to open back up the economy, without first putting in place reliable metrics, benchmarks, and health investigation foundations, Texas abandoned its people mostly unarmed to an enemy. Thankfully, those of us who donâ**t view the requirement â*¦ Co…

@geniusmusing I'm going to dance on that day to celebrate Flash's demise.
-
@geniusmusing Last time I checked, #Flash is still embedded in #Chrome, #IE11, #Edge. They will all need updates to completely remove the CPU-spinning security hole.
-
@geniusmusing Ooh. Sounds interesting.

Snapshot of hospitalization data, thanks to Dallas Morning News. Admittance to ICU lags cases. Cases lag infections. Texas has not seen the worst of it yet. I am optimistic the new Dallas Co. mask rule will start making a difference. But only for Dallas Co. https://twitter.com/drsekula/status/1274321279978541057/photo/1 https://chirp.cooleysekula.net/attachment/65704

I think I have an ultimate recipe for solving time travel paradoxes in fiction while retaining most of the perks: what if there are many other universes, and the only difference they have with this one and each other is the initial moment in time? The lack of actual time travel automatically eliminates all the issues of time travel like loss of information or consistency issue…
-
Though I guess this approach break one important part of a time travel · which is being able to see the consequences of one's actions on a longer span of time.
So a narrative like in Back to the Future cannot be represented with it.
-
@chimo Well, yea, just as a specific tool to plug some issues of the time travel concept.
It could be seen as "creating new timelines" while travelling, while also not actually creating anything, just throwing out of synch.

Heard from two of the kids today.
#sonTwo is thinking about quitting the 2nd job early. They still haven't made back the money that was lost due to the shutdown, but he says he's spending too much time working and not enough with the family or working on bettering his future.
#Daddy_A didn't receive the package today, so he's hoping it comes tomorrow or Monday.
-
Oh, and in our common online course, he's way ahead of me. He did start earlier than I did, but he's also moving faster.
