It looks like the last few days of 90+ F and dry winds have killed some transplants in my garden. Radishes, Turnips, Beets, Sunflowers. Only about 1/3 of them were affected at all, and not all of them died.
Also affected (but no plants seem to be dead) beans, peas, peppers, grapes, potatoes, cucumbers, squash, cantaloupes, watermelons. No impact yet noticed on okra. One of the beets seems to be rushing to seed, but others seem okay. I expected the broccoli to also be producing seed stalks, but at this point, it just seems to be growing very slowly.
Going to water everything more heavily for the next few evenings, and try to add a morning watering. If they get past this hot spot, they'll have a better chance of finishing their growth patterns.
I'm not exactly Farmer Walt, but if everything left persists and bears fruit, we'll have plenty of produce.
