   School food was really awful. X decades later, I'm still impressed by just how bad school food tasted.

     That was my third high school. My first and second high schools didn't have cafeterias, so I mostly went without eating. (Family had more kids than money.)
     
     The object in that 3rd school became "ingest just enough to stave off starvation".

    I chose the wrong line today. After I'd stood behind one family for ten or fifteen minutes, I realized that the dad's mask had two tie strings on each side, but he had only tied the top ones. Then, once I finally got to the checkstand, I realized that the cashier had her nose sticking out above her mask.
