Time for K's security background investigation. the investigator called yesterday (work cell that I don't normally even look at except on Wednesdays when I do $EMPLOYER equipment software maintenance) while I was eating breakfast. Today, I got up earlier, so I could be back in the room in case the investigator called again. I called the investigator three times yesterday and on…

The Spinners were probably my favorite group for most of the 1970s (though Kiss was a close second).

@guizzy Are you in an area where it even makes sense to get a car? I had an aunt who lived in NYC and never even had a driver's license until she moved to Florida when she retired.
She could use public transit or taxis to get anywhere she needed and not worry about finding space to park.

Eventually, policymakers are those who cared enough to stick around, working for free, through multiple layers of BS and for multiple years. Wikipedia leaders could issue policies and make decisions that slow or temporarily reverse it, but that would eventually fail to st…

@mangeurdenuage I know French is supposedly difficult to learn, but it is a related language to Spanish. She should be able to learn it once she is making an effort and in a situation where she can use it every day.

I sprayed some more pesticide made of the oils of rosemary, garlic, and several other herbals in a 99% glycerin and water solution. After the first few sprays, the aphids have all moved to the bottom of the leaves, so I have to lift…

Today, the nearest hills ( 1-2 miles ) were visible with only a little haze. The midrange hills ( 10-15 miles ) were barely visible through the haze. I could not see the far foothills and mountains ( 20 miles and up ). I did not notice any ash falling today.
There is still a little smoky smell.
Meanwhile, there were mostly bluish skies and sunlight. Appears that most of the smoke is still blowing away from here.
