maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 11:32:20 EST maiyannah @infogab I used to be a forensic psychologist myself (for the local police service at the time). (Master of Science with a major in Psych FWIW) It's why I get as bothered by those that really don't have a significant mental illness bending the definition in a way to try to gain social credit, because I've seen firsthand as basically the last stop on the line peop… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 11:20:13 EST maiyannah @infogab They're not wrong in saying "you're not dealing with it", in that, if you were dealing with it, it wouldn't be mental illness, because it wouldn't be presenting that impediment.
I read "destigmatizing mental illness" as someone saying "I don't really have any appreciable mental illness but I want to say that I do to get social credit and don't want people calling me out on that. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:55:28 EST maiyannah Do you really get to call a company as belonging to a certain nationality when the majority of their money and assets are held in another country? -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:48:23 EST maiyannah @gameragodzilla It's why MS stopped making patches optional, and why they started omnibus patching, so that people could no longer avoid stuff like they did with the "free upgrade" advert update. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:43:41 EST maiyannah @nerthos There's a reason companies refuse to separate security patches from content patches. If you have that ability to chose which updates you instally, you can avoid the shit that they want to force on you. -

maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:34:40 EST maiyannah @gameragodzilla @camoceltic Most of them? No. Because Origin is acting as DRM and the game won't function outside of Origin launching it.
There's a few exceptions, but they are just that - exceptions. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:29:55 EST maiyannah I'm just so burnt out on being passed over for more popular people with "disoreders" when I myself, and many others I know of, suffer daily. I'd apologize, but I'm not sorry in the slightest. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:27:11 EST maiyannah I get personally quite frustrated with these people who make a big deal out of at-best minor disorders to try to get sympathy, because in many ways they divert attention from people whom may actually need it. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:19:25 EST maiyannah Similarly and on the other side of things, I'll never cease to be kind of amazed by people who are friendly to people with mental disorders up to the point where they actually have that impairment. These people that pay lip service to having mental disorders make it all the more difficult for people who actually have them, to develop support networks, because people expect they don't have to really have to "see" it. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:14:25 EST maiyannah "Speaking openly and hopefully about mental health is difficult, even more so when the entire world has its eyes on you." If you can talk openly about a supposed mental disorder to the _whole world_ then your mental disorder probably doesn't actually exist, or has been controlled for a long time. The very definition of a mental disorder is that it is a mental prob… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 10:02:17 EST maiyannah I really got that "I'm padding the review out" feeling trying to make the Master of Orion 4 review meet any respectable length. There's so little TO that game. -

maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:52:14 EST maiyannah "Samsung may only be in the planning stages for its Note7-disabling update in South Korea, but over in the U.S. things are in full swing. The company announced earlier this month that such an update would be sent out to all remaining Note7 units in the US starting on December 19. And now it's time for the first of the big four carriers to push the software to devices… -

First, Lenovo has decided to ship 2017 ThinkPad models with Microsoft's Signature Edition Windows 10 right out of the box. So, users don't have to worry about bloatware anymore. Signature Edition PCs are clean, fast and protected." There are so many p… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:43:28 EST maiyannah How bad does a game have to be to make the people that were so hyped up about it actively regret their hype? Worse than Spacebase DF9, worse than any Final Fantasy game, worse than Aliens: Colonial Marines, worse even than any Battlefield or Call of Duty game. Those still have plenty of hype-blinded apologists. WH40k EC has devestated people who used to be hyped… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:37:41 EST maiyannah I am not giving those developers my money. They are not a new studio. They have done this before, and given the money to develop a new game, they'll do it again. I am not going to contribute to that. The most damning bit of any review I've read about this game isn't about the balance, which is atrocious, or the bugginess, in a game that has more bugs than a cr… -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:34:42 EST maiyannah @camoceltic @purplehippo They've been trying (and evidently succeeding) in having people's entire steam accounts banned for "abusive" (aka negative) reviews. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:32:57 EST maiyannah See, the problem EC has isn't an engine problem. It isn't a bugginess problem. It isn't an environment problem or some sort of hardware problem.
The problem EC has is a human problem.
It's developers are complete shitstains. -
maiyannah (maiyannah)'s status on Wednesday, 28-Dec-2016 09:28:08 EST maiyannah I feel like the only person who was sceptical of WH40k Eternal Crusade well before release, and everyones coming to me now telling me how shit it is.
You could have just, you know, listened to me.
