@gameragodzilla You hear about the bad ones because they're bad. But they're also the one with deep pockets, and people are greedy. -

@gameragodzilla No, they aren't, but you don't hear about the good ones, like Focus Home Interactive, because they aren't doing shit like that what gets them in the news.
(FHI is just quietly publishing all kinds of high-end mid-budget games like Styx and Act of Aggression and Space Run) -

@gameragodzilla People still go to them to be their publisher. Why they do, Iunno. Short-term money at the cost of long-term problems would be my guess. People can be very short-sighted that way. -

@gameragodzilla 2K is very anticompetitive. They don't buy you, they ruin you. -

@gameragodzilla TOS violation was the only official line, but how they violated it is anyones guess since they didn't specify.
I suspect its probably because they were doing a total conversion and Firaxis felt threatened of someone making a better game than they did. They also gave Xenonauts a hard time back before it came out, they just couldnt do anything like that legally. -

@gameragodzilla They shut down that Dragonpunk mod made by the guy who originally wanted to make a Shadowrun game. I was going to run a news piece but info was p hard to come by -

Christmas Personified as a Catgirl
My friend runs OS X, and this last update made his MIDI keyboard stop working. The last update made his last MIDI adapter stop working. The update before that made his first MIDI adapter stop working.
THE CHOICE OF CREATORS -

> Tracks from high voltage side to low voltage side very close together
> No spark gaps or anti-tracking to speak of

I wonder if Clive Mitchell would say the same thing about that power supply in retrospect, given the phone and washing machine fiascos. -

Averaging it out on the last four hours vs the last four the instance was opprotunisticQM at the same time of day, processor use is actually up about 0.5% on average, but thats across stable processes not blocking IO, rather than the bloated spikes that inflate OQM's numbers. There were an average of 1 session dropped on OQM as opposed to 6 on the daemons. It seems… -

"A New York-based startup called EnGoPlanet has installed four streetlights in a plaza off the Las Vegas Strip that are powered exclusively by solar and kinetic energy. The installations aren't mere streetlights though -- they also power a variety of environmental monitors, support video surveillance" it goes on further, but that's where I stopped reading. Does su… -

Gotta love when "fix all the problems" day is the same as "feel like taking a long walk off a short cliff" day.
I guess it makes for distraction. -

I hope the sessions drops don't become often enough to be annoying though. I guess they're still preferable to the slowdowns at peak queue activity times though. -

Well, memory use is about the same on Daemons with the "fix". I have to have monit keep them up as they still seem wibbly. Processor use is a tradeoff between high and occasional, and low but constant. Queue is kept much clearer. I notice I get kicked out due to expired sessions much more often. So tradeoffs, but the end result seems to be the instance more … -

Mustard is awesome. All it would need is not a very GTK interface/iconset and it'd be perfect. But I still like it a lot more than AndStatus. Simple, effective, easy to set up, very quick and very responsive.
