@gameragodzilla Meanwhile XCOM 2 is still shit
-
@gameragodzilla Theyre the closest you can get to not shit, but you can't fix a shit engine they don't give you access to
-
@gameragodzilla They shut down that Dragonpunk mod made by the guy who originally wanted to make a Shadowrun game. I was going to run a news piece but info was p hard to come by
-
@gameragodzilla TOS violation was the only official line, but how they violated it is anyones guess since they didn't specify.
I suspect its probably because they were doing a total conversion and Firaxis felt threatened of someone making a better game than they did. They also gave Xenonauts a hard time back before it came out, they just couldnt do anything like that legally.

@gameragodzilla 2K is very anticompetitive. They don't buy you, they ruin you.
-
@gameragodzilla People still go to them to be their publisher. Why they do, Iunno. Short-term money at the cost of long-term problems would be my guess. People can be very short-sighted that way.
-
@gameragodzilla No, they aren't, but you don't hear about the good ones, like Focus Home Interactive, because they aren't doing shit like that what gets them in the news.
(FHI is just quietly publishing all kinds of high-end mid-budget games like Styx and Act of Aggression and Space Run)
-
@gameragodzilla You hear about the bad ones because they're bad. But they're also the one with deep pockets, and people are greedy.
-
@gameragodzilla Summer next year was what I heard but that wasn't from an official source.
-
@gameragodzilla As the saying goes, "squeaky wheel gets the grease". FHI has just been quietly releasing decent quality games, some of which were quite good, so they don't get that same attention.
There is that grain of truth in "no press is bad press" - the bad press can get you a lot of attention.
-
@gameragodzilla Dishonored 2 seems like Dishonored: Another One, just with a shitter engine.
I'll still have to pick it up though, once I'm through my backlog.
(Working on the Sunless Sea review now. Burnt most of today fixing the bullshit weird breaking this thing did)
-
@gameragodzilla Yes and no. It either comes over time, or you cash in integrity to Rush the Build process :P
-
@gameragodzilla Most publishers are in it for the money and it shows.
The unfortunate thing is, so are many devs.
So, ultimately, the two are made for each other.
