Got XMPP running now. the doc should be updated to reflect that you need two differend jits one for your client, i.e. YOU and a different one for GNUSocial. trying to connect with one and the same JID will have you puzzeld for a while though :-) @mmn !gnusocial !fediverse -

Because the statefull twitter api gives me a lot of problems with it's rate-limits I am now switching to a database and pulling tweets from the steaming api. This offers better options to populate information into my !gnusocial instance. -

Every 10 years when trying statusnet friendica or now !gnusocial I seem to pull the same license thread with the warning the evil empire might steal the net. Could someone delete that thread please as I am to stupid to comprehend how to stop it from re-appearing. -

@mmn !gnusocial I just had a look at the Twitter Bridge because it is looping messages I send from Twitter through my own bridge. I notice a loop is stopped by a check if $notice->source = 'twitter' I wonder if this check could be one on 'api' to?
For personal purposes I now changed line 198 of TwitterBridgePlugin.php to
if (($notice->source != 'twitter')AND($notice->source != 'api')) { -

@hikerus Yes as you know work in progress, !gnusocial does some bad shit rendering the text and what is worse they dont seem to supply a full fledge jason object that has addresses etc. So when reformating a message you need to work with already rendered content. The first thing you encount is a <br /> that shouldn't be there in the first place and thats only the top of the icebe… -

@hikerus BTW I am obviously the first one to actually read the code of the Textile class as not even @Tobias seems to have been aware that :-) are actually no problem :-) if you know your textile.
Still working on some !gnusocial incompatibilities of the class though. But confident I get around those too.
