@clacke As you may notice, now AndStatus loads new page after every 100 messages (page size). Do you mean these page loads are "jerky"?
The advantage should be ability to cope with thousands of new messages. As you noticed, older AndStatus version became unresponsive after a day or two?!
Could you compare that with current implementation? -

Currently I'm testing completely new Timeline loader (including Home timeline) and I hope to release some Beta version soon to test by users, who experience slow timeline loading, when a number of new messages is more than several hundreds. -

For HTML formatting AndStatus uses Android builtin library. And it's that library that currently doesn't support these tags... Although I need to test this in Android 5 and 6. -

@mmn In any email application and in http://status.hackerposse.com/url/6776 also there is a notion of an Inbox. The Inbox (close to Home in GNU Social...) holds all messages, which the server-side system ("Social network") thinks should be delivered to the User. It's a client configuration matter, if this Inbox/Home is presented as one stream or some messages should be filtered… -

@hikerus This is an expected behavior - a compromise. Currently a Notification doesn't have information on accounts. This is why turning "Combined" on is the only way to guarantee that e.g. new mention(s) will be shown.
