@takeshitakenji Everyone who have wanted to do that before have been running their own nodes, so injecting stuff into the database has been the solution. That's of course not available for ordinary users. So we have to program a UI for it in !GNUsocial.

@takeshitakenji Aliases don't federate. The intention is to make users maintain their own list of aliases. Like, you're part of three groups named !abc and you want to reference them by !localabc !remoteabc etc.

A neutron walks into a bar. "I'd like a beer," he says. The bartender promptly serves up a beer. "How much will that be?" asks the neutron. "For you?" replies the bartender, "no charge" !joke

@cathal When we start sharing more videos and audio and choose to cache that locally we might start running into some issues though (delays for downloading and storage space).

@maiyannah Ah, I've been wrapping my head around ontologies and stuff. And also learned that I should study graph theory.
And now it's time for bed! But thanks for reminding ;)

@cathal I even remove <img> tags, which StatusNet didn't do (and Diaspora serms to think is a feature). So no possibility to include tracking via remote resources either. (I try to fix everything that flags me on either noscript or requrspolicy plugins)

@resumer RT is probably the least sophisticated "news" channel available. Their main agenda is to gain views by jumping on any popular trends and preferrably also mentioning some generic conspiracy stuff that just get repeated by zealots as if it's a serious news channel reporting verified information. There's never been any deeper analysis or actual groundbreaking new…
