102F in the Arden-Arcade area of #Sacramento #CA. #Sac is another one of those places that gets a lot hotter than one would expect. But the plus is that there is often a cool sea breeze coming from the Bay Area in the evenings. -

According to Accuweather, it is 100F here in my part of #SoCal, with a "RealFeel" of 109F. Also 100F (RealFeel 105F) in Mesa, #AZ. That's quite an accomplishment, to be as hot as the Phoenix area.
Arden-Arcade, in the #Sac area, is 86F (RealFeel 93F), but the Sacramento Valley and parts of the San Joachin Valley have heat advisories, so it could get much hotter in other parts of the area. -

It would be worth a one-day trip to #Sac just to visit the farmers market there. Besides various fruits and vegetables, they have some ace smoked salmon and some very good bread. -

@feld@bikeshed.party is talking about drive-in movies. Right now, they'd be a big seller, if they were allowed to be open. He says they are not allowed in his state ( #WI, I believe ). There was one in the #Sac area of #NorCal, but even if they're open, there's zero chance I'd drive 16 hours round-trip for a movie. -

Rich People Mall I found one in the #Sac area. It wasn't enclosed, so maybe "mall" is the wrong word. But it was a ritzy shopping area with a Whole Foods a Barnes and Noble, and some places so expensive looking that I didn't even want to walk in front of them. The trainee at the #Sac office gave me a parting gift: a display that scrolls the text “[my full name] — IT Wizard”.
Apparently, the display comes attached to the bottle for Medea brand #vodka, and can be reprogrammed over #Bluetooth.

Something like this really did happen in #Sacramento while I was there. McDonald's ran out of burgers, so everyone went to Burger King. BK ran out of Impossible Whopper (vegetable-based) patties and also got so far behind that orders were taking in excess of thirty minutes. Only in #Sac would McD's run out of burger patties. I've never heard of that happening anywhere else. -

Got moved into the new hotel. So far, I like the other one better (but this is still better than the first one I stayed at in #Sac. No roaches, no fluids oozing up between the floor tiles).
