@bob I don't think it works quite that way with the power consumption. ;)
1. !qvitter uses polling (not long-polling)
2. web browsers tend to require a lot of computing power, compared to desktop/native apps

@moonman 1. Tags (as in how they're actually recognized) are sent as Atom "category". How (_if_) they're represented in the rendered HTML is dependent on software that generates it. I don't think we should mess with the rendered notices except perhaps hide stuff (like with notice URLs in !Qvitter that are shown as their full representations instead). 2. Not using a reg…

In accordance with the requirements of the AGPL, here's the code for my !gnusocial plugin for doing 4chan-style greentexting:
https://gitgud.io/ShitposterClub/GSGreenText
It is also !qvitter compatible.
If anyone wants to explain to me why the css that's supposed to go in the head is instead being appended to the end of the HTML document, that would be great. But it works as-is.
cc: @maiyannah who wanted it also.

@takeshitakenji Check the Atom feed for the notice (link available in "classic" mode at least). If there's geo data for the <entry> there, it works but isn't displayed. I don't think !qvitter displays geoposition stuff at all.

!GNUsocial nightly has a prettier #oEmbed / #OpenGraph display. Inspired by !Qvitter. https://social.umeahackerspace.se/attachment/60808

Not right now on a per-user basis. I agree it should be configurable. The !qvitter interface allows this, but I guess it's not available on #loadaverage.org

Weird #private !gnusocial bug : uploading and displaying an image from the classic UI works, but it points to /main/login in !qvitter cc @mmn @hannes2peer

@andstatus Yep, !qvitter solves this by requesting the data directly from the origin server of the account (when you hover the mouse over a profile a request is sent to the remote server).

!GNUsocial (and hopefully integrated into !Qvitter) tools for moderation and censoring shall be better than anything used in any oppressive society in any civilization this earth has seen. @maiyannah You could perhaps construct some cookie magic that remembers who you tried to subscribe to and when the browser gets back compares it automagically... Assuming you're originally subscribing _from_ your own node. But you can absolutely _not_ trust that a remote site's "remote subscribe by putting your URL here" will actually give you that remote profile's pro…
