sorry if you were logged out of quitter.se, but i had to do it to fix a security issue. !qvitter admins should update.

@clacke I agree. I made an ugly hack on quitter.es and quitter.is to present non-js first in the only way to include all relevant metadata. Either way it's !qvitter that needs the code afaik.
-
@hobbsc You can directly to /main/login I think. Assuming you've disabled !qvitter for your account (on another computer that runs javascript), when you log in it should take you to the classic interface.
A link to the manual login interface could be nice, and a quick fix that anyone who knows basic html can provide I think. .)

I only run vanilla !gnusocial! Except for !qvitter of course.
-
Does somebody remember where and when we discussed locale filtering of notices in !qvitter and/or !gnusocial?
-
@d0e That's why !gnusocial and/or !qvitter should display most of the profiles and groups remotely, so we don't have to leave our instance to see them :)
-
@hannes2peer @maiyannah I've been looking at it now and I'm curious where someone can put their own URL in there in a way that will be output to !qvitter since it's only HTML if Notice->getSource returns a Notice_source object, which should be under server control and not affected by user input.
-
I bet !qvitter doesn't run very well on it and that's why you're on classic!
-

@moonman On my sites I never load !qvitter unless the visitor runs javascript and allows cookies.
-
@moonman Oooh, I see! !qvitter still fetches TWKN posts and renders them. But the feed requires javascript to load - and afaik web spiders don't have javascript engines and thus doesn't get those posts anyway.
-
../api/statuses/show/.. returns a notice object. #qvitter nodes return it with a useful external_url variable included, but vanilla !gnusocial nodes don't. :(
-
@andstatus !qvitter does a bunch of stuff on its own yes.
-
@angristan !qvitter is available as a !gnusocial plugin that you can install.
-
There's something that makes !qvitter show originals and not (if it doesn't exist) generate a thumbnail. Then the image gets hotlinked too, right, so you get it from my server? I don't experience this in classic view.
-
@takeshitakenji Send a merge request to @hector's fork instead. The devs have been inactive when it comes to !qvitter and !gnusocial lately.
-
Haven't seem much development activity in the !gnusocial and !qvitter repos lately.

#LibreJS afaik also has caveats other than the license header, some bits about how code is run etc and statements that aren't allowed. And so far I've heard problems with people having a hard time figuring out _why_ their code doesn't verify as libre. If it happens to be really easy, I'd happily accept a patch and I guess @hannes2peer too (though last I read he had managed to fix it for !qvitter)
-
@mcscx Yeah, but that explicitly requires installation of meteor. And also !qvitter doesn't use it.
